Interns

At the Business Services Group, we want to make it easy for you to connect with a motivated who can help you learn, adapt, and more effectively run your business. Additionally, students are excited to work for you and benefit from your years of experience and technical knowledge.

Traditional Interns work at your business and are on your payroll, although some students opt to work in unpaid internships. They can earn up to three credits of college credit for this work. To find a traditional intern, contact the college internship coordinators [link to WebContent_internContacts)

Reverse interns work at the organization’s place of business on projects that also train the client to continue the work, such as with Web site and social media activities. Clients pay a fee for this work.

Project-based interns work independently on campus and under the supervision of UNR faculty or a BSG staff member on projects varying in scope from a week to a full 16 week semester. Clients generally pay a fee for this work. Some teams may be formed quickly, depending on student availability and the project scope and type of challenge. Some projects require recruiting special student talent and should be arranged by October 1 for the spring semester, and March 1 for the fall semester or summer sessions. Contact the Business Services Group if you have a quick deadline and want student help (link to WebContent_OrganizationsApplyHere)

Students compete for internship positions. They apply for specific internships or projects and must be recommended by a faculty member. UNR or Business Services Group faculty and staff interview student applicants to be sure the most qualified students are ready to tackle your challenge.

To apply for all but traditional interns, complete the Project Application [link to WebContent_OrganizationsApplyHere] form and a member of the Business Services Group staff will contact you.
